Tuesday: Krazy

Tonight I went to the Vancouver Art Gallery, where I saw a show about comics, graphic novels, cartoons, etc., essentially pop culture stuff without computers. But, before I get into the shots, I must apologize, as I'm sure I wasn't allowed to take photos so I had to be sneaky, and thus some aren't the best. Regardless, there was some great work there, most of which I was too scared to take a picture of for fear of being kicked out, so the shots are limited.

One of my favorites at the show was a guy named Chris Ware. Check this out. Done for This American Life. Also one of my favorites.

Crazy with a K.
I'm pretty sure this is the dude who animated the stuff in Kill Bill 1. That animated scene... you know the one. Anyway. I missed his name. But great work. Lots of glare makes this shot bad and doesn't do it justice.
if i ever have a kid i'm getting him/her the doll on the left with the chainsaw. how's the blood dripping from it...
There was a huge head. Krazy.

Monday: Mike and Helen

posted by Anthony Boronowski
This weekend I flew up to a town called Dawson Creek. It's in northern BC, my cousin Mike married his long time girlfriend and threw a super fun party. It was cool to see some of my family again... its been a while.
the view from the back garden of my aunts home. the country is beautiful. the way the fields change the way a community feels is interesting.
the whole reason for my trip.
These guys played the wedding. They're called Maria In the Shower. They're pretty fun. You can download and listen to their music here http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=138768499 Pretty rad band for a wedding...
Party. Helen's married...
My cousins Mike and Petra.
Petra getting it done... good style.
My aunt Marilyn rules. She's all time.
They're really into dinosaurs up there. I guess lots of them were found around that place. This t-rex footprint was in the airport. I thought it was funny. It made me feel like a kid again, being stoked on dinos.

Wednesday: Songs

posted by Anthony Boronowski
Some stuff I've been listening to lately. Its been some time since I did a playlist.

The Bon Iver song is one of the most beautiful I've heard in a long time. Amazing.

And the rest. well I hope you like them too. I do. I had some other stuff on here but it really didn't suit the mood. Been listening to a lot of Ed Banger stuff lately. I'll do a post in that genre in the next while. As for now. Guitars with mellow tempos.

Saturday: Whistler to Vancouver the long way

posted by Anthony Boronowski
Yesterday I went on a big drive. The highway from Whistler to Vancouver had a pretty big rockslide which covered the highway and closed the route, people were claiming it was going to be 5 days before it was cleared. I was supposed to move into a new place in Vancouver on the 1st, and I didn't really feel like waiting 5 days to move... so i went the long way around. From Whistler to the interior and down. A 7 hour drive. I thought it would be a good way to see some of BC which i don't really frequent and shot some photos along the way.
the slide that close the highway... i can't believe nobody was killing in this thing.
beginning of a drive.
my life all packed up and into the back of my truck.
That freight truck ahead of me in this shot was killing it. Hauling ass. passing everyone.
That's a town called Lytton on the lower left. People talk shit on that place but it seems pretty nice.
I thought it was funny that the back way around was super sketch. They've had a bunch of rockslides here too. Half dozen of one six of the other.
Back in Vancouver and all moved in at my new place. Feels good to be here. Not that Whistler is bad, it was just time for some change.
