I came across this video today... fucking great work. I haven't ever see a music video which inspired this type of emotion inside of me... Reminded me a bit of like La Haine, if you've seen that film. There's something about Frence cinema and this subject matter...

I wish we still had the comments so we could have a discussion about it, but I'm sure there are plenty of others floating around on the internet. I'll be making some changes to the site soon, so the comments will be back...

If you want to see more great work from this same director, check out his myspace profile.

It's been awhile... life has been pretty busy as of late, so the blog has been getting neglected. I was going to poach some random stuff off of other sites but I figured I should provide some new content even if it isn't that interesting. Here's some shots my setup from this week. Painting a bunch...

I've also been editing the Joystick film, but I can't show you yet. Teaser will be out on June 21...

Sometimes being home is as overwhelming as being away. At least when you're away everything is on hold, aside from that one thing you're away for. And then when you get home there's a million things to do... different directions to be pulled in.

Anyway, I've been working on some new art stuff. I'm trying a new technique where I'm scanning my sketches and transferring them to my paintings... we'll see what happens. Here's stage #1:

2008 05 04 : To LA

I haven't been shooting so many photos on this trip. Normally I find roadtrips a good time to shoot a lot of photos, but because of shooting the motion for our film most of my time and energy has been going into that. Here's some shots from the last couple days.
Mapquest.com. Mammoth -> LA. After all the driving on this trip the 5 hours it took to get to LA didn't seem that bad at all.
Diners. Mandatory.... Shari's isn't really that good though.
Although Shari's pretty much sucks, if you're an employee and you memorize 100 customers names you get a name on a plaque...

2008 05 02 : Skins

I don't really watch TV too much. In the process of this roadtrip my friend Paco introduced me to a program called Skins. It's a soap from the UK about kids getting fucked up, drinking, doing drugs etc. Just teenage life. And I got sucked in, Over the past two days I watched the entire first season. 9 shows at 40 minutes each... 6 hours of my life.... insane. TV has an amazing ability to suck you in. I fully underestimated it.

My favorite part of the show is the character called Cassie. She's this funny, random character. I pretty much watch the whole show because she makes me laugh. Her character is really well written. This clip will explain it all:
