I'm in Mammoth. It's cold and snowing, winter all over again. Mammoth is a funny town of too many cops and not enough to do.

Some photos from our journey to Mammoth. Elina really didn't want me to post this photo of her because she doesn't like it, but i think it's quite fitting. I think we are all pretty over driving, bad food, and close quarters.
On our trip we stopped in a place called Winnemucca for lunch. It's the weirdest, emptiest, bizzarest town i've ever seen. Empty shopping bags blowing around vacant gravel lots, pawn shops all over... It made me think of the Modest Mouse lyric that says something about shopping malls being the ghost towns of tomorrow.

We're about to drive from Schweitzer to Mammoth
We always leave not really knowing where we're going. That's the way it is. Landing in Switzerland not knowing how I'm getting to France, leaving Schweitzer sorta knowing how to get to Mammoth. At least we have some type of directions... 395 South...
And for Jeremy, I'd check out Slaughter House Five.

I had a day off today.
I went and shot photos with Elina Sirparanta (
www.elinaphoto.com) in a town called Sandpoint. A town where nothing but everything happens. A town when you're driving, you shouldn't blink as you might miss it. A town that makes me wonder what its place in the world is, and how may more like it exist. A town where i wonder how people ended up there. A town that makes me wonder if Napoleon Dynamite was filmed in the house next door.
